Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: This policy applies to Known Bugs ("we," "us," "our") operated by an individual. By using knownbugs.report, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Known Bugs is a community site for reporting and viewing video game error codes and bugs. The site is operated by an individual. Contact: knownbugsdotreport@gmail.com.
2. Age requirement
Our service is not intended for users under 13. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you must be at least 16 to use this site. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users below these ages. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.
3. Data we collect
- When you browse: We use cookies and similar tech (see Cookies below) for session, security, and site operation.
- When you sign in: If you use "Continue with Google" (or other sign-in providers), we receive your name and email from the provider. We use your name to show who submitted content (e.g. "Having same issue" or workarounds). We do not store your account password; the provider handles authentication.
- When you submit content: Report and submission forms collect device, description, game version (optional), and optional screenshot. If you are signed in, we associate your display name with that content.
- reCAPTCHA: We use Google reCAPTCHA to reduce abuse. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that service.
4. How we use your data
We use the data above to operate the site, show and moderate user content, prevent abuse (including via reCAPTCHA and rate limits), and respond to your requests (e.g. contact form or email). We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies
We use cookies for: (1) keeping you signed in (session); (2) security (e.g. CSRF tokens); (3) site functionality. Third-party cookies may be set by Google (e.g. for reCAPTCHA). You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect sign-in and certain features.
6. Sharing and storage
We may share data with: (1) service providers that host or operate the site; (2) Google (for reCAPTCHA and, if you sign in with Google, for authentication). Data may be stored or processed in regions outside your country; we take reasonable steps to protect it.
7. Your rights (EU/UK/California)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, or to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at knownbugsdotreport@gmail.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK) or to non-discrimination (California).
8. Retention and security
We keep your data only as long as needed to run the site, enforce our terms, or comply with law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data; no system is completely secure.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" note at the top will reflect material changes. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy. Questions: knownbugsdotreport@gmail.com.
